Morphogenetic Fluid Dynamics

The Morphogenetic Fluid Dynamics workshop aims to introduce a performance-driven design methodology, through exploring the ideas of shape optimization and iterative simulation feedback. The workshop will look into the morphogenetic potential of fluids, based on the use of Computational Fluid Dynamics simulations and Computational Design processes. Working with a real-world scenario and objective and through analyzing the context and data of the given site, participants will be asked to use introductory level parametric geometry and simulation tools to explore the effects of their design on the airflow and ventilation of the building.

Grasshopper Basics in Helsinki

Parametric Support invites architects, engineers, and designers to participate in Grasshopper Basics training. Learn how to use apply parametric design to your projects!

The goal of the training is to introduce to parametric tools and to understand how to define a parametric process. The workshop compromises a series of tutorials, exercises and short lectures showing the potential of the method and possible application of tools with examples. Three days training introduces to Grasshopper.

Grasshopper Python Training McNeel Barcelona by Parametric Support

Join us for the next special training session at our European office in Barcelona. Agata Migalska of Parametric Support and Damian Paszkowski will lead a three-day Grasshopper Python Training Workshop
They will introduce Python, a modern programming language meant to be a simple language to read and write. It runs both the Windows and Mac versions of Rhino. So, the same Python scripts can run on both versions of Rhino.
The main focus of the workshop will be on how to run Python within a Grasshopper component to create your custom components within a larger grasshopper definition. The GhPython component contains a Python script editor and direct access to Python, Rhino, and Grasshopper functions.

Interfacing Architecture, Engineering and Optimization

The masterclass explores applications of mathematical optimization to architectural design. Participants will learn about major classes of black-box optimization algorithms – Metaheuristics (including Swarm Intelligence), Direct Search and Surrogate Model-based Optimization – and experiment with algorithms from each category: Genetic Algorithms, Particle Swarm Optimization, DIRECT, and optimization with Radial Basis Functions.

Machine Learning | Experiments

The Experiments workshop will focus on the exploration of solution spaces which is an activity arising every time the designer creates a parametric model. For this task the machine learning tools such as neural networks and autoencoders will be used. The ambition for this event is to conduct a series of short experiments which will discuss the condition of the parametric models and illustrate their properties for a better understanding and development of the design intuition.
